VGB Congress 2011 - 21-23 September 2011 - Bern, Switzerland
This year's VGB Congress was held in Bern, Switzerland and was held under the motto "European Generation Mix - High Demand for Flexibility and Storage".
How will European energy generation develop? How will the individual countries face the challenges? The task of restructuring the energy mix in the long term by achieving the climate protection targets, maintaining supply safety and simultaneously making energy affordable is easier put in words than implemented in the reality of technology and engineering. Technical solutions are needed for all branches of electricity generation, however, this is no longer only a technical issue. The problems of combining technical solutions and possibilities with other social issues, such as the struggling for acceptance of large-scale industrial projects and “Public participation” have been addressed by an internationally high-ranking programme.
In the course of the congress the EPPSA President Mr. Franz-Josef Mengede held a presentation titled "Power Market, Technologies & Acceptance: Status and Perspective".
