In 2012 EPPSA was again a supporting Association of COAL-GEN Europe.
The 4th annual COAL-GEN Europe conference and exhibition took place from 14-16 February 2012 at EXPO XX1 in Warsaw, Poland.
The aim of this premier annual event was to bring new technologies and renowned international experts and professionals together to develop clean coal energy solutions to satisfy growing domestic and foreign demands for coal and reduce the impact of global warming and cut Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions by 20 per cent by 2020.

EPPSA participated in the Plenary Panel Discussion on Wednesday, February 15th, entitled 'Can Coal Help Fill Europe's Energy Gap?' and in Session 7 on Thursday, February 16th, entitled 'Focus on the Industrial Emissions Directive'. In the course of Session 7, Mr Clerens, EPPSA Secretary General, held a presentation on 'The EU and Power Generation: A Love and Heat Relationship'.
